Roger Freeman

Roger Freeman was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and graduated with a Liberal Arts BA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1967. He then taught History for 3 years in the Chicago Public School System. During those years he began taking class in photography at Columbia College in Chicago. In 1973 he traveled and photographed for a year throughout Europe and Asia. On his return he entered the graduate photography program at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago. Since the late 1970's Roger has taught photography at the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, in Alfred, New York. He has also taught summer sessions in Italy, including the spring semester of 2005 at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence.
